Ireland - Dublin
When I started looking for internships I had as goal to work abroad. I did not necessarily care where I went, but in order to make it more clear for myself I decided I wanted to go to Ireland. There are many reasons for me why I would have loved to go to Ireland. Besides the cosy pubs, rich history, incredible coastlines, beaches, and nature in general, I think that Ireland is a land with interesting traditions, including music, language and dance. This rich culture has always drawn my interest. Dublin in particular seemed like a perfect place for me to develop myself with its international opportunities, friendly inhabitants and great environment. These are the 3 companies I eventually got in contact with.
RAI Amsterdam

The COVID-19 outbreak made going for an internship abroad a considerate amount more difficult. I decided I wanted an internship no matter what and posted a message on Linkedin. To my great surprise I received a message from the RAI Amsterdam offering an internship. This internship gave me the possibility to develop the skill of sales, a skill which is important in almost every aspect of the leisure industry. It is not an internship I would have picked out normally, but I am very happy I did. The RAI is an amazing company and I learned a lot
