Concepting Disney

During the modules Leisure Concepting and Leisure LAB I worked on a concept for Disneyland Paris.
During the first module, I worked on researching the target group, parents with young children. As a group created an overview of their needs and wishes and eventually created a rough storyline. The concept we wanted to create was going to be focussed around the movie Coco, a movie based around values such a family and creativity.

Module Leisure LAB was where we really started to create a concept for Disneyland Paris. After we completely completely worked out the storyline, it was time to create the final concept. Not only did we design an attraction, but we also worked on a complete square which would be built in front of the attraction. Taking the target group of young children into consideration, our attraction was a mix between a rollercoaster and a dark-ride. Including technologies such as AR glasses and direct interaction via touchscreens, we created a future proof ride with lots of storytelling and educative elements.

"Spirit: Unleash your creative spirit" is the final product of the whole semester. While the other members on my group worked on a physical representation of the attraction, I focussed on the digital version. Using a program called Planet Coaster I managed to capture all the different elements we wanted to see in our attraction. This visualisation creates an easy understanding of what the attraction might have looked like in real life.
